5 surprising education facts

Here is 5 surprising facts about higher education.

1. In 2009 347,985 students earned business degrees, but only 15,496 of them walked away with a degree in mathematics. Which is surprising.

2. One of the most studied degrees is park, recreation, leisure, and fitness. During a 10-year period, the number of students getting degrees in these majors jumped 92 percent!

3. With other common majors, education was the biggest drop in interest. In a 10-year period, the number of students earning an education degree went down 5 percent!

4. Only .4 percent of undergraduates attended one of the Ivy League schools. This shows that too much attention is made out to these 8 schools.

5. Last but not least. 23 percent of full-time undergrads, who are usually 24 or younger, work 20 hours or more per week!
